edu180atl: annie gough 5.2.12

I love to read.  I get excited when I read.  I get inspired when I read.  I like to read Nate the Great and Ready Freddy and Junnie B. Jones.  Junie B. Jones books really inspire me, because they are easy.  There are hard words, and I like to read them. I get to learn new words. I learn to spell.

I like Ready Freddy because he is really funny.  Ready Freddy inspires me because he really wants to get things done.  Ready Freddy saves the Earth.  There is a green team challenge, and if you complete it, you will be a member of the Green Team.   I want to be on the Green Team because I want to help save the Earth too.  We can help save the Earth by picking up ten or more pieces of trash in the neighborhood.  Ride your bike or walk. If you have a big piece of paper, you should put it in the scrap bin, because that will save the trees.  Use a rag not a paper towel because it is still made out of trees. Bring recycling to school.  I want to invite you to be a Green Team member too.

  1. Annie, you are an amazing reader, and speller, and Green Team member — and a truly amazing girl! I’m so glad that you love to read, and I’m also glad that you like to challenge yourself with those hard words. You inspire me 🙂

You sound like a creative person, with a lot of important ideas! My three children are also interested in saving the Earth – and they also love to read. Thank you for such a nice piece of writing — I am impressed with how well a 1st grader can make so many good points!

  3. Annie Sunshine! What a great post! I love to read, too. I am reading a lot about how people become creative and innovative. I would say that you are already being creative and innovative! Thanks for reminding people how important our Earth is. We all need to work together to take care of our home…instead of taking it for granted. I love you!

  5. Annie, I really enjoyed your post! I’m a member of the Green Team at my office, and we do lots of really great things to help the environment. We plant trees, pick up trash on the river in kayaks!, encourage recycling and composting, find ways to use less paper, ask people to take fewer plane rides and use other ways of talking to people who are far away…so they use less airplane fuel and put fewer pollutants in the air. I bet you’d have great ideas for us to add! I hope you get to join a Green Team soon! Great post!

What a thoughtful post, Annie! I loved reading about your own reading and the things you enjoy doing — both at school and outside of school. You are a very good writer — I am impressed with the time you dedicated to write this post. Your hard work paid off with an excellent edu180atl post — you are now a published writer! Congrats! I can’t wait to see what you write about in the future…I’ll be following your blog with great interest! 🙂 Ms. Megan
